new year, new projects

a new year means new projects. my wee house is getting a laundry room. no more walking 10 miles barefoot to the nearest brook to beat my clothes clean with rocks. no more flipping the chonies inside and out to maximize use. i just want to be able to wash my clothes without feeling like an undergrad college student once again. you know, collecting loads and loads of dirty clothes before making that inevitable trek to a laundromat or to your parent's home to get them washed. i want to be able to do laundry in my own house.

my wee house has an itty bitty space for this much needed laundryroom. i think the previous owners had planned for this as well, but they did a horrible job with the physical spacing of it. it is rather tiny. i figure in order to install my laundry units, i needed to invest in a stackable washer and dryer which meant i had to install a gas line in a very specific place. looking for a plumber/contractor to do the job was so tedious! i called about 6 people, met with 3, and finally settled on butt-crack mark. seriously, pull up the pants dude! he gave me the lowest bid, installed the wrong gas valve size, and fixed it with a not so recommended converter because he didn't want to crawl under the house again. seriously! ugh! i am SOOOOOO going to count to 10 because of this. anyways, i THINK it should be fine. no gas leaks right?

hearing the sawing and hacking really freaked me out!! ahh, poor wee house! no pain, no gain i guess.

goodbye and hello!

the year draws to a close and a new one awaits. POW! time kind of hits you in the face doesn't it? what the hell happened in 2008 and how the hell did i end up with a house and a ton of bags to put in it?!?! thank god for blogging! i can refresh my memory by rereading some past posts :)

i feel truly blessed. truly, truly blessed. to me, blessed feels like god kissed you on your forehead and you feel simply toasty and fuzzy inside knowing that such good things can happen in your lifetime. though my house is a fridge at the moment, nothing takes away from the warmness i feel sitting in my messy living room, chaotic from my sister's recent new year's eve gathering, knowing that i own this little wee house of mine. ok, maybe it's not all mine...i owe the bank a gazillion years worth of payments.

i feel warm and fuzzy and love this house so very much. i know i should probably invite you guys over soon. my sis already had 2 parties and i'm still at zilch. must be that weird host-phobia i have. you know, that phobia that comes from being a dork.

feeling truly blessed! perhaps 2009 will bring even more adventures! thanks for reading along!! :)
